1963 Ford - Replica J.D. Tippit Squad Car, Cont'd.
Dallas, Texas

On November 22, 2009, the Tippit Memorial Squad Car was taken to the Oak Cliff location where Officer Tippit confronted Lee Harvey Oswald 46 years ago and was subsequently murdered.  The Tippit vehicle was staged in the exact position as it was when officers arrived on the scene to find Officer Tippit dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Mrs. Tippit was present for this as were her sons and daughter, Brenda, plus numerous members of the extended Tippit family.  The houses and street easement have changed over the years, but the reality of this tragedy has not.  Nearly 50 years have passed since this tragic event, but the haunting memories were brought forth once more for the Tippit family.

Below are the recreated crime scene photos from November 22, 2009.
