Lights and Sirens
The Texas Fire Museum houses a
large collection of vintage emergency vehicle lights,
sirens, horns, and traffic warning devices. The exhibit
includes early-period fire lanterns, fixed/steady-burning
lights, flashing lights, oscillating lights, rotating
beacons, twin beacon light bars, and
current-era light bars. Sirens included in the collection
include hand-crank, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and
modern electronic models.
In the South Bay, visitors will find an interactive display that
allows them to operate the sirens and lights on
display to see and hear them in action. The photos in this
section show only a few of the lights and sirens on display. |
